A Brief Interview with Donna Converse

We cornered Donna Converse, who offered some insights regarding the Consortium's role, and the needs of both the Consortium and the X Community at large:

"A big strategic need in the industry right now is for users to be able to access any application regardless of what they have on their desktop and what system the application was written for."

She sees the Consortium as primarily an inter-organizational communications facilitator, negotiating between organizations, making sure things don't fall through the cracks, and providing a a trusted communications channel. She sees its reputation as strong in providing high quality APIs and sample implementations.

Finally, Donna believes the Consortium needs more participation, especially in the following areas:
