This rumor has been circulating for about 20 years. I called the Proctor
& Gamble branch we have here in Augusta, Georgia & talked to Public
Relations, Personnel, a General Information Secretary & a Plant Manager.

Todd Hoffman, Converting Manager, stated the following: "We have a
package of  information that we can send people that has signed letters
from Phil Donahue, Billy Graham, the Southern Baptist Convention, Merv
Griffin, the Archbishop of Cincinnati & also Ann Landers refuting the
lies that circulate almost every year about us. In 1991, we got a $75,000
judgement where we took action against 2 people (independent distributors)
for spreading lies & malicious gossip & we will continue to do so. Current
President, Ed Artes, is taking this in a matter-of-fact manner & is just
going after the rumors aggressively. The address to receive this package is:

our representatives are well-versed on this subject. Please share your

unbelievably resurfaces & changes faces almost every year."

So Gang, I would suggest you refrain from making copies of internet posts
that spread the rumor. He also subtly hinted that by posting messages on
the internet containing untrue slander against their company you are
committing a crime & could be prosecuted by them. I urge you to forward
THIS message to everybody who received any of the first messages with the
rumor in it.
