After hearing about fake Rubycon (and other brand) axial caps, and since my supply met the description of having both ends crimped and both ends showing black material-- neither end bare metal-- I decided to dissect one of mine to see what was in there.

I've included an uncut 47uF/450V for comparison. Click on an image for a larger (10x) image.
First cut: found a 100uF/400V radial inside, masquerading as an axial. Or so it seemed.
Second cut: found a 47uF/400V radial inside. Is it real?
Third cut: Presumably so.
Interestingly, the YK caps are rated at 85C and are standard caps. The BXA are rated at 105C and are the high ripple caps. The fake YK wrapper claimed 105C, which is not correct for the YK series, according to Rubycon: http://www.rubycon.co.jp/cn/catalog/e_pdfs/e_SERIES-CHART.pdf .
