George P. Burdell - Star Athlete

During his college career, Burdell played in almost every male sport at Georgia Tech. Here are his most memorable achievements.

He led the offense for the first 100 points in the all-time high score collegiate football game when Georgia Tech beat Cumberland Gap 222-0.

His softball records remained unshattered at GT in the intramural leagues:

He set a number of records in track, including 50, 100 and 440 yard dashes, as well as several cross-country records.

He crossed, underwater and underice, the frozen Chattahoochee River at its widest point inside Fulton County, in under a minute, on a dare, immediately after aceing the grueling final examination for his drown-proofing course.
