Early this morning (thurs) around 1-115am we were out driving around looking for a friends pet. Out of nowhere comes this giant blue/green orb fireball out of the sky. My fiancé thought maybe it was a plane crashing into a nearby neighborhood. I personally, felt as if it were just a couple of car length away. I was driving and more alert. I actually saw it from my drivers side window and it made it way in front of us, falling straight down, like a giant ball of fire. It's so hard to explain because I have never seen anything like that. Ever. It wasn't any higher than the power lines. In fact, it may have even been lower when it went out. Even though we were super-close I couldn't tell if it burned out or made it to the ground. We never heard anything, so I think it had to have burned out. That's how I viewed it. My fiancé viewed it as more green than blue and agreed with me on everything except he believes it to be further away.
All I know is that I slammed on the brakes because it seemed very close and it scared me. We questioned plane crash, flare, fireworks, etc...but in the end we decided that it had to have been a meteor. Especially after viewing pictures. It looks so much like the meteor pics. We live in central okla. just thought it best to share.
